"Vancouver School Board Introduces Gender-Neutral Pronouns"

"Students and teachers in Vancouver can now use the gender-neutral pronouns "xe," "xem," and "xyr." The move is designed to accommodate students for whom "he" and "she" does not fit or is deemed inappropriate…
"The newly coined pronouns — xe, xem, and xyr — are pronounced to rhyme with the genderless plurals "they," "them," and "their," and all starting with the "z" sound. So phonetically speaking, they’re pronounced "zey, "zem", and "zare.""

the issue regarded policy change, where the vancouver school board’s (VSB) LGBTQ+ advisory committee re-wrote existing policy to protect staff and students falling on the queer and trans spectrums.
the policy revision includes
-they/them/their and non-traditional pronouns being recognized by the school system
-required used of preferred names and pronouns by all staff and students
-preferred names/pronouns on all school records
-gender-accesible washrooms and change rooms available to those who require them
-disciplinary action taken against those who act in a discriminatory or hateful manner towards students, staff, and families falling on the queer and trans spectrums
—————-
the consultation was the longest ever done by the VSB, with over 120 speakers spread across 3 meetings.
the process also resulting in two school board trustees being ejected form their party’s caucus, due their discriminatory actions and arguments.

Super Smash Babies ⊟
Obviously this doesn’t reflect the currently announced roster for the new Smash Bros. (what with the inclusion of Ice Climbers, Jigglypuff, and Ness), but it somehow made Kirby even cuter than he already is, so there’s that.
Ann Chang created these cuties, and she’s selling them both as stickers ($15 sheet) and individual charms ($7 each). Head over to her Tumblr for more adorable stuff, like the Animal Crossing and Pokémon charms!

Hello there!
 I’m Jenpenn/Cyanatar. I’m an illustrator and a massive fan of Kill La Kill. I’ve done numerous pieces in the past (including some in the works) but the finale has made me really want to make something special.  As a result I’m announcing a Kill La Kill fanzine project! This really comes in 2 parts (thus 2 ‘zines’) so bare with me. The original idea was for me to make an anthology of artwork to personally release as a print book as my homage to the show. This would include 20 or more pieces of my own, and 5 contributing artists as guest features to the zine. Already I have got artists such as Koitonic and Jenna Smith on board, and then the idea grew. So what I’m doing is opening this, twitter collab style. The result being two products: One the printed zine which is of my own, and an amazing fan collaborated digital zine. I always complained about the idea of twitter collabs having no final direction and in this case, there will be a result for you to own either for a price or for free!UPDATE: BOTH zines will be printed! All proceeds (beyond the print and shipping costs) from both zines will be going to a Domestic Abuse charity in the uk. At the moment I’m looking at two and Women’s Aid is one of them. Application to be in the Zine is by my email jennabrownart@hotmail.co.uk (titled KLK zine) and you MUST have a way for me to see your art otherwise I cannot allow you in. Any medium is fine, I will give more details to successful applicants. This is a huge project (especially for myself..20 fully rendered images at least *flop*) but I want to create a thankyou to the team who made a great show. Together we can do it, just be sure not to lose your way!Applications close October 30th. Please share if you can! Spread the word ;w;

AMAZING AND IMPORTANT UPDATE! I’ve decided to make this a charity project. I get no profit from either zine which means both can now be printed. 2 physical zines! Amazing. I’ll also give a pdf storenvy code for each purchase so you can still send a digital to a friend c:I’ll make a condensed post on the klkzine tumblr soon once applications are near closed.I’ve been able to get amazing people on board like Gashi-Gashi, Rafchu and more to confirm! I’m so excited by it!!
